360networks to interconnect using Netrake border control

Netrake today announced that 360networks Corp. is deploying its nCite Session Border Controllers to support the security and delivery of its new SIPConnect Service targeting cable operators, ISPs, broadband service providers and VoIP service providers across North America.

360networks has installed Netrake`s nCite Session Border Controllers (SBCs) at interconnection and peering points in its network to secure the network, and ensure quality of service and related service level agreement compliance. The SBC also will provide denial-of-service protection, authentication, Firewall/NAT traversal, access control and network topology hiding.

The components of 360networks` SIPConnect service suite are available on an a la carte basis and enable broadband service providers to enter the VoIP market. Components include local telephone numbers, inbound and outbound local calling, domestic long distance, E911, local number portability, directory listing, operator services, and directory assistance. The service will leverage 360`s competitive local exchange status and fiber optic network in the western half of the U.S
